A 35-year old painter from California Dimitri Yin now lives in Paris. This website documents the evolution of selected works completed throughout the past decade.

In my most recent body of narrative figuration work completed in Paris, I explore desire as a driving and transformative force through the use of baroque and romantic painting traditions. Enaged in the debate between physical decadence and spiritual ascendency, I draw upon the night and day life of metropolitan Paris and the Southern California aesthetic  as key visual references.

Peintre Californien de 35 ans, j'habite à Paris depuis 2005. A travers la technique picturale de l'époque romantique et baroque, j'explore le thème du désir en tant que force révélateur capable de nous transformer.  Je m'inspire de la vie parisienne, du culte du corps californien, et de ma propre vision de l'esthétisme physique. Grâce à ces diverses sources d'inspiration, je tente de tisser des liens entre l'amour physique, la décadence, et l'amour spirituel.  Je vous invite très cordialement à prendre un verre et visiter mon atelier au mois d'octobre durant les portes ouvertes.
